It will be constructed by Port Lotniczy Gdańsk for LS Technics for approx. 80 million zlotys.
The agreement for the preparation and implementation of the investment was signed on 30 October 2025 in Gdańsk by: Tomasz Kloskowski, the President of Port Lotniczy Gdańsk, and Tadeusz Stachera and Dariusz Maruszczyk from the Management Board of LS Technics.
According to the said agreement, LS Technics will be responsible for the project design while Port Lotniczy Gdańsk – for the implementation of the construction of a three-stand hangar intended for code C aircraft, along with the hangar apron. The new structure, about 150 meters wide and 60 meters long, will be developed in accordance with the latest standards and trends in ground handling infrastructure. The project involves creation of a spacious service area complemented by workshop, sanitary and office facilities.
The new hangar will be built in two stages. The investment will replace the location of the current hangar no. 1. During the first stage, a new section of the facility will be added. Next, a second one will be constructed on the site of the existing building. Thanks to such a solution, it will be possible to create a modern hangar infrastructure and the construction will not disrupt ongoing operational activities. LS Technics will be able to continue inspections and repairs of aircraft also during the construction works.
The implementation of the entire investment is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2028. The construction is financed by Port Lotniczy Gdańsk. Then, the hangar will be handed over to LS Technics for lease for a period of 20 years.
“We have started the realization of another important investment – an aircraft maintenance hangar that, on one hand, contributes to the development of MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) operations and, on the other hand, proves that Gdańsk is a crucial location on the map of such services. We are pleased with the growth of our cooperation with LS Technics, the company that already occupies two hangars at our airport and, starting from 2028, will be operating a brand new, much larger facility” – said Tomasz Kloskowski, President of Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport. In his opinion, with the expanding flight network and the growing number of planes stationed in Gdańsk, there will be no shortage of maintenance work.
“Gdańsk has a special place in the history of LS Technics. This is where our company started its base maintenance operations and performed its first heavy inspections of aircraft from the Airbus A320 and Bombardier Q400 fleets. For years, the cooperation with Port Lotniczy Gdańsk and the entire region has constituted a crucial element of our growth. We want our operations to be a part of the development of the local economy and airport infrastructure. That is why the Management Board of LS Technics, after a thorough analysis of the market needs and the company’s growth potential, made a decision to continue further operations at Gdańsk Airport. An advanced hangar will be constructed here to allow for an even greater expansion of the offer of aircraft technical maintenance. We believe that the joint investment will contribute to the further development of Pomerania, creation of new workplaces and solidified position of Gdańsk as an important hub in advanced, high-technology aviation industry in Poland and Europe” – said Tadeusz Stachera, President of the Management Board of LS Technics.
LS Technics has over 30 years of experience in technical maintenance of medium-range and regional aircraft, such as the Airbus A320, Boeing B737 and Embraer 170/190. It has been operating on the Gdańsk market since 2008. It currently rents a permanent-structure hangar and for two years has also operated a new aluminium and steel facility with double-layer roofing, resembling a large tent. LS Technics belongs to the Polish Aviation Group established in 2018.
